System Engineer (IT)

Job Description:

Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.

Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.

Proactively ensure the highest levels of system and infrastructural availability.

Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies.

Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time.

Participate or lead in the design of infrastructure and operational support systems.

Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

Requirements:

Diploma in Computing or related subject.

Work experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows based environments.

Experience with virtualization.

Experience with monitoring systems.

Experience with automation software (e.g. MDT, SCCM)

Solid scripting skills (e.g. VBScript, Powershell)

Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
